There are idlers on the aux belt, but they rarely give any trouble. The tensioners can sometimes give trouble, as the casing starts to split. But, they are £75 quid from LR. And if it does fail, it is only 20 mins or so to replace
Your specialist is correct, in that the rear belt only does the HPFP. If it breaks, it will cause no damage, and the car will roll to a stop.
However, you are living on borrowed time at that point. LR state 105k/7years for a reason, and I wouldn't like to rely on a car, with the niggling doubt in my mind that it could break down at any time...
The belt kit costs £40, and worst case, takes an hour to change it.
In fact, I done a set of belts at the weekend, and done the rear belt in 20 minutes.
