I'm missing RR Sport ownership...

...but I'm not exactly sure why...

The Q7 4.2TDI I've got is an absolutely cracking vehicle for what we use it for, but I find myself drawn to AT and looking at 3.6TDV8 Sports.

The fact that this forum is very informative and vibrant is also a factor I think, so I think once I'm ready; I'll be coming back in a month or two... Wink

That's a bit surprising, I thought you had become quite fond of the Q7.

Are sure you still want a TDV8 after your last experience of buying one. Laughing 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

The Q7 is probably a 'better' vehicle for what we use it for but it lacks something that you can't quite put your finger on.

You know a RR Sport has it, just not exactly sure how to put the feeling into words.

Well I saw an absolute cracker of a TDV8 on eBay today.

Black, HST, not been used for four years, stolen and recovered (but unrecorded so that's OK then) engine's blown up but just needs a quick replacement and all for the bargain price of only £13,500.

SPX I can sympathise with that! I defected to Audi a year ago got a new shape A8 4.2TDI Quatro thought I'd cracked it with such a lovely car and TBH it has been faultless! Just come back from 1000 mile round trip on less than 2 full tanks (£110) per tank. The other year I done the same trip in my RRS 4.2S/C at a cost of about £600 !
I'm now thinking of coming back to another RRS I can't make my mind up either 3.0SDV6 Black Edition (love the fact their fully loaded with toys) or the 5.0 S/C with all that power but the horrendous fuel economy it's the old head & hart problem! I could be wrong but I don't think there is much difference in the economy between the 3.6 & the S/C ? Cheers Laurence.

The Q7 costs £140 to fill up and I get about 500-550 miles to a tank... Whistle

I think the S/C is low teens mpg whereas the 3.6 TDV8 is low twenties.

Yes nice cars the Q7 I almost got one instead of the A8 - what was it like in the snow last year? Cheers Laurence.

I only bought it a couple of month ago! Embarassed

I know what you mean. I considered a Q7 before I bought one, however after trying one It just didn't appeal to me. Don't get me wrong they are very good cars and are "technically' better but as you say they just lack that something. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

TDV8 doesn't compare with the 4.2 TDI IMO, which can be remapped to almost 400BHP. Shocked 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

If I could shoehorn the 4.2TDI into a RR Sport, I'd be in heaven!
