It seems that there are plenty of people around who do... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I had a similar JLR experience with an April 2008 XF when within 12 months the 2.7D was replaced by two versions of the 3.0D.

All kidding aside, what 'bothers' me the most is that these 'updates' (I don't know/care about the parking assistant) were already announced on the launch of the new RRS. I for instance like the idea of having the tracking unit in the car and the geek in me likes the InControl app to follow up fuel consumption etc. It could be however that this technology is already in the first RRS, but needs to be activated or so, I truely hope so.

Regarding the engine, we knew that the 4.4 V8 was coming too, but for me that was no reason to wait. I'll check with my dealer on thursday, that's when they launch the new(est?) RRS here in Belgium.

i'm not a happy shopper !
my new autobiography 3.0 sport being built now, for delivery next week !
£80k worth ! and I read a press release saying basically my new model is now the old model !!
not even paid for it yet ! , I would def have the I phone app/interface if I could of had it !
i have rung LR who say basically sorry not available for retro fit ! tough ! so frustrating at this stance !
they even announced this in the 26th march press release and again 5th September but not on my car !
so much for customer satisfaction ! thought would just come as part of the car !!
arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I fully understand you. I myself have contacted my dealer with the same question too, asking whether they could retrofit it. Same response, no they can't. If it were possible to cancel the current order the earliest delivery date would be march (instead of december). I decided not to cancel my order, the car wouldn't drive better because of the new gizmo's, but it does sting a bit. The feeling will probably go away when I drive the car, but still...

I wonder if Land Rover will follow Jaguar and ditch the Denso satnav for iGO Primo in 2015MY cars. Jag has done this in 2014 MY XF's, but not the XJ.

It does seem a bit soon to be updating a model that is hardly off the production line yet - I would definitely not be happy if I'd paid a deposit. waited months and then found I had the old model before it was even delivered - especially if spending £80k Shocked

I would of thought get some models out then maybe update a year later would make sense and updating models is all well and good but can we fix the old model problems first Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Am I missing something. The press release said updates would be available to order yesterday but I cannot see nothing on the website configuration. 2010 997 Carrera S
2007 997 Carrera S

'Our' online configurator is down at the moment. Yesterday was the launch of the new Ranger Rover (aka MY2014), no sign of the 2014.5 though...

It looks like they are making changes to the site too, with references to the new features like traffic sign recognition, 10" screens for RSE, ...

A bit more info on this, the 14.5 brings a couple of extra available options too:

- 10.2" RSE system (mounted on the back of the seats, it seems, not in the headrests)
- Style 7 seats (18way powered + massage function)
- Park Assist
- Park Exit
- Lane Departure warning
- Traffic Sign Recognition

No price of the InControl system yet (in the 14.5 Catalogue)
