OK so i took my RRS for a spin from Preston to Ipswich return.

fuel consumption 31.7 mpg

avg speed 72.5 mph

fuel type Shell nitro +

Miles for one way trip 286 miles

Was a great comfy trip such a great car to drive, going from Preston to Isle of white on Thursday for the bank holiday so will post the consumption for that when i have done it.

The only down side was i got a screw in my tyre so had to get it plugged £20 2007 RANGE ROVER SPORT 2.7 TDV6 HSE in silver

Average speed of 72.5mph? How did you manage that? You must have been sitting at silly speeds for a while to get that sort of average. And to get 30mpg+ whilst doing those speeds is impressive.

Are these figures from the on-board computer or did you calculate them? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

All the numbers was from the onboard computer.

dont recall going over 90mph usually sit around 80.

was a good run though looking forward to going down to Isle of white on Thursday, will see what it does then.

Dont know weather its becouse the car has 34000 on the clock or it is down to shell Nitro+

Sorted  2007 RANGE ROVER SPORT 2.7 TDV6 HSE in silver

That must have been the only time that journey has been done with no hold ups anywhere. You should have bought a lottery ticket too!  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I use the M6 Toll whenever I need to go past Birmingham. Don't mind paying to avoid the horrors of Brum centre.

My TDV8 gives about 26mpg on a run. I will be interested to see how it works out next time as I recently had it mapped. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

So on this journey i used BP Ultimate fuel
No traffic jams all the way down

I think this is pritty good going.

I was gunna do it on the way back but noticed the misses had put air con on for some of the journey which does have a big impact on fuel 2007 RANGE ROVER SPORT 2.7 TDV6 HSE in silver

just done this weekend chorley to Oxfordshire and back, 500 miles and averaged 30.8 which included quite a bit of general running about as well as motorway cruising @ around 75. filled up with standard diesel from Tesco

Generally get around 28 mpg commuting to work and back on normal roads

Don't believe the trip computer too much. I just use it to flag up anything unusual and think that's all it's good for. I am on holiday at the moment and calculated the actual consumption after I had covered about 1200 miles. It was 29.5. The trip computer was showing 34mpg However, I think 29.5mpg is still pretty good considering no posh Nitro+ or Ultimate fuel (regular "poverty spec" Shell and Total diesel all along), 2 DVD players constantly on to keep the young ones occupied, 2 iPhones either playing music or on charge all the time, Blackvue constantly recording, aircon on and off and above all the journey included a lot of low gear driving climbing/ascending steep roads and taking hairpin turns on mountain passes.
