Average speed of 72.5mph? How did you manage that? You must have been sitting at silly speeds for a while to get that sort of average. And to get 30mpg+ whilst doing those speeds is impressive.

That must have been the only time that journey has been done with no hold ups anywhere. You should have bought a lottery ticket too! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I use the M6 Toll whenever I need to go past Birmingham. Don't mind paying to avoid the horrors of Brum centre.

Don't believe the trip computer too much. I just use it to flag up anything unusual and think that's all it's good for. I am on holiday at the moment and calculated the actual consumption after I had covered about 1200 miles. It was 29.5. The trip computer was showing 34mpg However, I think 29.5mpg is still pretty good considering no posh Nitro+ or Ultimate fuel (regular "poverty spec" Shell and Total diesel all along), 2 DVD players constantly on to keep the young ones occupied, 2 iPhones either playing music or on charge all the time, Blackvue constantly recording, aircon on and off and above all the journey included a lot of low gear driving climbing/ascending steep roads and taking hairpin turns on mountain passes. |
