Cam belt change

Hi Guys
Does anyone know the cheapest place in the Southampton area that can do a cam belt change for my 06 2.7 RRS. I would do it myself but the tools are £100 to start with

Cheers guys

the pins are pretty std, as Simple says, the only way realy of breaking these, is to try starting the engine with them in Laughing

sets are £65 on ebay if you want your own.

LR wil charge anywhere between 600-900, indipendants will be charging abouit £500, so you can save yourself a packet if you are able to change them yourself. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

I may do it myself when I get 10 mins.
Is it best to change the tensioner as well, or are these normally ok

id always change the tensioner (should get one with the timing belt kit) as well as idler bearings and also consider changing the water pump as is very simple with the belt off. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Wouldn't bother changing belts without tensioners and water pump. If the belts are due changed then the pump has done @ 100k miles so for five more bolts and some sealant just plain daft to forget it.

A must is both the belts two tensioners and bolts, both idelers, auxullary belt and tensioner, optional is the water pump, I have done dozens of belts and only changed two water pumps at the customers request as both pumps where fine when replaced its your call to replace it.

From 2007 on its a must to change the oil pump as well as quite a few of this year have had failed front belt tensioners due to the oil pump casing failing and trashing the engine.

Flack Thumbs Up
