Side Step + service advice needed

Hi there

I bought my 06 RRS from the Land Rover dealer a few years ago with the side step already damaged

[I have saved the images on the gallery...I cant seem to attach the images in the message]

The passenger side step is totally functional, just deeply grazed (how the previous owner did that, I have no idea)

I am thinking about getting this unsightly fixed

Any suggestions

1. Change a single step for a new one (then where can I source a single passenger side, step)
2. Change the pair (although drivers side is completely fine), should it only be OEM or do you suggest an alternative
3. Is it possible to just fix the edge
4. Other ideas I havent thought off

Service
Finally my car was serviced at 62k (I cant remember exactly) just less than a year ago and the mileage stands at 68k. My sticker from the LR service centre highlights I should have a major service at 1 year/77k @£1700 Big Cry which involves some sort of timing belt change.

Is that right? and should this service be so expensive?

You can buy new trim for the sidesteps. Have a look at this recent thread: http://rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic31814.html 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

The TDV6 is engine requires the timing and fuel pump belts etc changed at 105k miles / 7 years, so yes yours is due. £1700 sounds expensive even for a dealer. You can normally get the belts and tensioners done for around £400 or so by an independent. I recall some on this forum negotiating around £1000 for LR to do the full 7 year service, belts and everything else. Hope this helps, if you want to read more then have a search, there are a lot of threads relating to people's experiences on here Thumbs Up
