Side step edgings

Hi i am missing a side step edging.... just wondered if anyone as tryed these....... as they say you need to clamp it etc to fit sounds abit fiddly or it wont fit right etc
Anyone with any experience with these I was looking at new side steps but i want to get edging painted red anyways so thought be easier for the painter if they were off the side step aswell

When I did my conversion ( see gallery ) my first idea was to go with the Red Vents & red rear AB badge - I liked it but my Mrs kept telling me the red sticks out and draws the attention from the rest of the RRS.
After that I couldn't disagree with her comment so thay had to go. Sad If you ever upgrade Ive still got the genuine red vents & rear badge. Whistle
Good Luck. Thumbs Up 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Yup, bought these a few months ago for mine - had a 'discussion' with a fiesta trying to overtake me uphill before reaching a road island. I lost the trim - he lost his mirror and rearranged his passenger door and wing Whistle

You will need a set of G-clamps (make sure not to damage the new trim), a pop-rivet tool (about £4 on eBay or Amazon) and patience. You can bend the new trim nearly to shape and then rivet and adjust as you go. To finish the fit use a block of wood and a hammer to shape the trim edge.

Looks great and a hell of a lot cheaper than a new step! As you get a pair, I'm going to do the passenger side too.

Took about 3 hours in all (with cigarette breaks).

And of course, remove the rust and seal the metal behind the strip first!

Oh, and lastly - they supply about 8 rivets for each side but the originals were secured with about 10-12 so you may want to grab a fistful of extra rivets from [insert your chosen supplier here] to do it properly. The rivets towards the front of the step can be fiddly due to the internal angles inside the step but it's do-able.

One of mine fell off this morning. As I went to retrieve it it was run over.

It's a little worse for wear but will go back on til I source a replacement.

Bloody car is falling to bits.
