Probably the compressor mate. Just had same problem on my2006 .

If your car is fitted with Dynamic Response, check the fluid level. I had same fault, turned out to be leak on one of the ARB's. 2007 TDV6 HSE |

Thanks for your feedback Chrale, whether it makes any difference i've had 4 new anti-roll bar bushes and link rods alround last year, or do you mean the roll bar itself? Where do i check the fluid level? Thanks again. MY2009 Range Rover Sport Stormer 2.7 TDV6 |

The ARB's themselves can leak. Theres a reservoir on drivers side just behind front panel under bonnet. Looks like a power steering reservoir.
