I did give you some constructive advice in the third post I won't bother re posting it. I have had 2 RRS and would have probably had another in future if the new one wasn't so ugly.

But, I just don't agree tha driving an RRS or an RR somehow gives one social class or status (which is a British blue blood concept) or makes one a superior being (Andy are you trolling me here?).

I promise I am not sensitive, I am sure that others will bear witness to that! But in the interests of not being banned again from the site, I will wish you good luck with your search, hope you don't pay too much, hope you get a good reliable car, hope that it satisfies your desire to be socially elevated and makes those parts grow which other cars cannot reach.

I suppose any car can cost a fortune. I don't know, I buy new and keep for 3 years, always under warranty and with free servicing. I have no idea whether I spend a fortune on my motoring or not. It is what it is.

But as I sit in my lowly X5 and I see an RRS, I think to myself, there goes a classy and superior being. If one drives an X5, why feel the need to make comments about those who drive cars the forum is designed to inform and then get funny about it. If a user has been banned, it would suggest abusive or insulting posts from that user, so why then come back to the site simply to have a pop again.
Can't understand the willy waving when usually there is plenty of good humoured banter and lots of informative posts  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

With the new model coming soon there should be a few good deals to be had from the stealers. There is also the added reassurance of minimum 1 year warranty on Approved Used which is good if the car is more than 2 years old. You can get warranty yourself fror about £700. a year from Warranty Direct, which seems to be the most comprehensive of the aftermarket warranties.

Reasonable place to start is to identify your budget. Then have a look in the Land Rover approved used website to see what can be had from dealers and if it fits your needs. Next step go to Autotrader and have a look there to see if there are significantly better cars available at the same price point from independent garages or private sales.

As mentioned before, avoid paying over the top for additions / alterations unless they are absolute must haves and would work out cheaper than adding yourself later on. Hidden costs to be aware of are things like tyres near the end of their life, worn out brake pads, impending major service etc.
If buying from independent or private sale best to have it looked over by an LR specialist.

I tend to favour single owner cars with full service history and no alterations. Ended getting both my Discovery 4 and RRS from LR dealers in the end because they had what I wanted and there was not much to be gained from buying elsewhere.

I don't know much about the prestige side of things but these are great cars to own if you are preapred for the occasional problem.
My RRS is newer, more expensive and looks nicer than the Disco yet I still get far more compliments on the D4 than the RRS....go figure. 12MY RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Lux Sumatra / Black + contrast/ Grand Black

Run as far as you can get from Saxtons, I have first hand experience of them - never again! Take your time and buy as low a mileage one as you can afford with best service history. Low mileage makes yours stand out from the crowd come the day you sell it. The market is full of higher mileage models which will depreciate faster as the new shape enters the used market in a couple of years. When test driving, pay special attention to front suspension noises, gearbox and check every button and electronic gizmo. Extra bling is not as useful to you as a solid history will be. All that said, RRS have enormous smile per mile. Choose slowly, choose carefully and enjoy the search! Thanks - Morty

This is banter, just like it would be in a pub. When someone says that driving an RRS instills a feeling of "class" and Andy (trolling) says it makes one feel a superior being, (with a sense of humour which I get) its just too hilarious to let go, unless one is a kn.b and actually agrees with such claims.

The fact that I constantly manage to upset you Brits with light hearted mild banter surprises me. You have to step away from ye olde England to see that class really does still matter there, and in 2013, it in itself is amusing. Its like looking at a museum. I have had 2x RRS one of which had many problems and was replaced by LR.

You never asked what I fly and what does it matter?! I actually fly a range of things fixed rotary, singles and twins -posted about that lots of times over years (probably when your banned )

As for gentry, your living in the past or generalising, like your Brits comment - you would get defensive if we turned it around. Mike

If it's class you want then go for a FFRR and leave it standard. The RRS is "new money" (something looked down on by the aristocracy. An RRS with shiny 22in rims and other blingy bits is just "chav with cash"

Really, if you want class then you want a proper old Bentley.
