I am tempted to change now for the outgoing model if the discounts are good but considering reliability I might hang on for the new one in the hope it improves Embarassed

I also hope it is a monocoque to get away from the ridiculous bills to remove the body when things go wrong - they will no doubt find another reason to charge £1000's though Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Cairns Blue

Seems to be lots in the same boat then. Only thing that has put me off is the fact that there is only the 3.0 ltr in current diesels. Having become used to V8 I wouldn't be able to live with lack of get up and go. With the prospect of a new engine and turbos in mine in the distant future, I'm split between buying a decent warrentee and driving on or changing. Only thing that I will say is I will not get a new model of anything LR until its sorted having been one of the first to have a Sport in 2005 and one of the first V8s off the line in 2007. Too long in the tooth to do unpaid R and D for a large company 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱

Have you driven the new 3.0

They are not far off the performance of the TDV8

Really worth getting a test drive you will be surprised - pleasantly Paul

If I can't get mine back on the road soon, might take that option up. I drove a SD when they first came out and having got out of mine, found it a bit lifeless. Don't fancy pulling up in forecourt with 26 ft of caravan on back and asking to try SD for towing Rolling with laughter but that's what mine is mainly used for these days as I needed something less posh and more reliable for work Whistle 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I pull a heavy Elddis Twin axle with a 3.0 TDV6 and have not found it lacking in power - if anything my main worry is tearing the A frame off when pulling away at roundabouts and junctions Laughing

Bow down
Had that once, on way home from York.... Locked at speedo and realised was 25 mph over limit. Problem with Twin axle is tow so well that you sort forget its on the back. You would think it hard to miss a Delta RS up your back side Rolling with laughter 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

You need to find a new garage if if a body removal lands you with a big bill. Can be up and back on in around 6 hours Whistle

Happily I have not experienced that particular nightmare but reading others on here I had to extend the warranty or I would not sleep at night Rolling Eyes

If it only takes 6 hours I can't understand the telephone number size bills banded about on here Shocked Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Bloody hell my 3.0 SDV6 is surprisingly quick I wouldn't discount it if you haven't driven one obviously!

Book time to remove body, fit a turbo and refit body is 18 hours at dealer rate of 150 an hour plus Vat. As per usual, dealers charge book rate rather than actual time which has always been a bit of an issue that the MMI has never tackled. Am sure if the government got involved things might change but its never going to happen while they get the revenue from what would otherwise be called a rip off Banging Head 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. It's torque you need for towing, there is only about 20/30 lb/ft between the v8 and V6, so both make mighty fine tow cars
A V8 has about twice the power of a tractor but a quarter of the torque- you would never be able to plough a field with an RRS Wink
Cheers

Sounds like a top gear challenge (if the bbc ran more than 2 shows a year!!) which 4x4 ploughs a field the best Mike
