Seems to be lots in the same boat then. Only thing that has put me off is the fact that there is only the 3.0 ltr in current diesels. Having become used to V8 I wouldn't be able to live with lack of get up and go. With the prospect of a new engine and turbos in mine in the distant future, I'm split between buying a decent warrentee and driving on or changing. Only thing that I will say is I will not get a new model of anything LR until its sorted having been one of the first to have a Sport in 2005 and one of the first V8s off the line in 2007. Too long in the tooth to do unpaid R and D for a large company 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

If I can't get mine back on the road soon, might take that option up. I drove a SD when they first came out and having got out of mine, found it a bit lifeless. Don't fancy pulling up in forecourt with 26 ft of caravan on back and asking to try SD for towing but that's what mine is mainly used for these days as I needed something less posh and more reliable for work 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I pull a heavy Elddis Twin axle with a 3.0 TDV6 and have not found it lacking in power - if anything my main worry is tearing the A frame off when pulling away at roundabouts and junctions

You need to find a new garage if if a body removal lands you with a big bill. Can be up and back on in around 6 hours |

Happily I have not experienced that particular nightmare but reading others on here I had to extend the warranty or I would not sleep at night

Book time to remove body, fit a turbo and refit body is 18 hours at dealer rate of 150 an hour plus Vat. As per usual, dealers charge book rate rather than actual time which has always been a bit of an issue that the MMI has never tackled. Am sure if the government got involved things might change but its never going to happen while they get the revenue from what would otherwise be called a rip off 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

It's torque you need for towing, there is only about 20/30 lb/ft between the v8 and V6, so both make mighty fine tow cars
