United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Orkney Grey
RangeRover Sport MPG

Hi all,

Just recently noticed after someone pointing out that my Range's average MPG is 21.6. I do not know whether or not this is normal as they are quoting different figures on different sites.

What sort of figures are you all getting ?

Thanks in advance,

Ateeqm

Depends on your driving style, but for a TDV6, I'd say that's a little on the low side from what I've seen posted on here previously, but again, depends what sort of roads you drive too, town/city or mortorways, A roads etc. Confused ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Hi Beancounter,

Can I ask what you get out of your MY12 car?

Picking up a HSE Black in a weeks time and would be interested to know what the damage is going to be! Laughing

Cheers
Jim

Sure Jim, anything between 26, if I drive like a t Censored t Whistle and as much as 34 on a longer run (driving <80mph, no fast acceleration etc).

Real world, I'd say I'm getting around the 28 marker, but that is with mostly short journeys, so you're looking around gaps of 440-470 miles between fill ups of 75 litres. Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

21.6 MPG seems rather low for the 2.7 RRS but as BC said it all depends on your driving style and roads. Most of my driving is around town. My last reset was over 3,500 miles ago and last time I checked MPG on the computer it was 27.5. The actual will certainly be much lower than that but I have not yet bothered calculating based on fill ups. I only check the consumption to monitor any relative drop which could indicate a problem, which I think is what you are doing as well.

^^^ Seems quite low then AteeqM Shocked . Could be worth flagging up to your dealer as unless you have lead feet Whistle you should be getting at least mid 20's. Confused ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Ha! I can assure you I am a sensible driver Very Happy Thanks Bean and yes I will definitely be doing so, I thought something was strange as I heard this was supposed to achieve a higher MPG and am filling it up more often.

And thank's to everyone else who has replied.

Are you running non-standard wheels/tyres? If you change the rolling circumference then that will alter the how far the vehicle thinks it's travelled. That shouldn't make much of a difference though, albeit it is a real effect. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Lux Stornoway Grey

Well for some reason mine is going down hill after a couple of weeks. On paper it's should be better on fuel then the Lexus it has replaced. For the first couple of weeks it was using around 30 squid a week as the missis only flits around here and there. Now it seems to be using 50 squid. I have questioned her severally and she said she isn't taking trips to the cost so am perplexed where this fuel is going. I was messing with the climate at the weekend, now tell me this, if you have it on auto does the AC pump run? The reason I ask is the AC light is on. Big Cry MY 11 RRS Luxury Stornoway Grey Ivory/Black leather contrast stitching Logic7 side steps roof DVD system for the grand daughter. Mercedes SL500 for the summer. Vito Sport X for work. Gone to many to list but what larks

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I had a run out to whitby at the weekend, about 180 mile round trip i zeroed the trip computer which in turn zero's the mpg, although some of it was motorway and the rest is up hill and down dale as it is going to whitby (fantastic roads) i put mine in sports box aswel as dynamic mode also making full use of the paddleshift and just drove it like i'd stole it Razz when i got back home i checked the computer and it was showing 30.7 mpg Shocked boy was it fun, you really can chuck the sport around on twisty roads Very Happy
