My rear license plate not working. Fuse 4 and 10 are ok.
My rear latch swith is not working. Could that be connected? 91 BMW 850CSI

My guess would be the cables giong to the rear hatch..

Check so that connectors and cables are in good order.

Could be a broken ground..

The rear latch switch gets corroded, it is a alloy hinge when the rubber in between the numberplate lights is pressed it pushes onto a micro switch. when the hinge part corrodes it does not move so does not press micro switch. You need to take the unit out from beneath the number plate panel and clean it up or replace it to get the top tailgate to open. Then you can access the eight screws to take the outer cover off to check connections. New switches on ebay about £25 itisme

I have ordered the switch.
Sadly it is 50 pounds in Iceland, but those are the prices here and buying off ebay might even be more expensive when the customs get a hold of it.
I will get the switch and then take a look at the light 91 BMW 850CSI
