Welcome to the world of British-built cars. Big Cry

With Land Rover products, you either get a peach or a rotten apple. Their reliability reputation tells you all you need to know about how far they've got the ratio of those wrong! In a recent straw poll on this forum, the ratio was 6:4 peach:rotten apple. That just isn't good enough in a premium product. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

sorry to hear your having so many problems Neil.

The altenator/battery issues were probably linked and not dianosed properly in the first place? RRS gone

Is this a new car to you?
Think from memory the fan nut is 36mm and is a reverse thread so maybe why your struggling. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

If the Ecu detects a massive drain such as a shorted out alternator, it will shut down. Not uncommon. Need to be a bit more aggressive with it. Special tool No 7, also known as large hammer, and not your claw hammer from kitchen cupboard! 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Can't remember on V6 if there is front pulley sensor. Have a good look round areas you worked in to make sure all is plugged as should be. Whistle
Failing that need to plug it in to computer. I trust you had keys in pocket when battery was disconnected and reconnected?????
No idea what area you are in, I have a Verus if you are within reasonable drive from Bath.
Very Happy 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Yes key was in my pocket next to car or with in less than 10 feet all day
Plan in the morning is to put battery on charge
Then look over were I worked
Put battery back on turn key to II
wait 5/10 min to see if it resync's with ECU

Thanks
Neil

If it locks and unlocks the car on normal key should still be sync'd. Not up to speed on keyless go systems but know its possible to confuse any key when reconnecting battery if in ignition 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
