Dashboard Creak

Hi All,
This is my first post so please go easy on me.
I bought my 59 plate RRS in March and to be honest it's been backwards and forwards to the dealer ever since. Recently a creaking noise has developed somewhere around the black square shaped box in the centre of the dashboard and under the window. It only creaks when driving on our poorly maintained roads and is fine on smooth roads. Has anyone else suffered from this and or can offer any remedy?
Thanks.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

I've got a 59 plate also and had exactly the same problem.

I tried spraying it with silicone spray but no luck.

Dealer said the dash had delaminated and it required a new dash Shocked

Dash was on back order and took about 6 weeks to come in Evil or Very Mad

They then took the dash out and realised they didn't have a new VIN plate to fit to the dash.

That was another 3 week wait for the plate so they decided to put the new dash in without the plate also managing to scratch the instrument binnacle plastic in the process.

When the plate came in they took the windscreen out to fit the plate.

Refitting the windscreen they managed to break the heated screen Censored

Are you sure it isn't coming from the upper glovebox lid? A few of us have rattly latches that sound like they're coming from the windscreen area.

Try driving with the upper glovebox lid undone and report back Thumbs Up

This is a standard annoying creak and I have it as well - it is the square speaker grill. I do not have it in hot temps above 30 degrees c but get it a lot in winter when temps are around zero. I have tried spraying it with various lubricants but it is still there.

A real pain but no success in getting rid of it.
