Steering wheel badge change

Ive bought a new steering wheel decal and im worried about removing the old one without setting off the airbag. The old one is stuck in quite firm. Any help would be great, thanks:-)

Try feeding some strong cotton either side of the badge then tug away at it. Thumbs Up

The air bag will only be activated by a collision it is impossible to set them off even by taking a hammer to the steering wheel. Thumbs Up The control module which is normally situated on the drive train tunnel has to detect the impact and takes into account things like speed. angle of impact and how much g force is transmitted etc before it will send the signal to set off the airbag, every airbag has separate control modules which is why only certain bags will go off depending on point of impact. Mostly it will take around at least 9 g worth of impact to set them off which is a hell of a dunt Thumbs Up

To be totally safe just disconnect the battery Very Happy Dave.

Thanks . But the reason im so paranoid about this is because many years ago i had an older rover car , i took a wrong turn and in a fit or bad temper i punched the steering wheel and wham. I got an airbag in my face, now this might be different in a modern range rover but that did happen to me by a hit on the steering wheel.
