Number Plate Replacement

Stupid question, how do I remove/refit the number plates?

They appear to be stuck on but damn they won't budge when I pull on them?

Boiling water usually helps! Should soften up the sticky pads behind them. LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

First of all mark out the outline of the old plate if it’s nice and straight with masking tape, you’ll need this for when you put your new plate on for a guide line.
Use a very sharp wallpaper scraper the more bendy the better and be carful and gentle and you shouldn’t damage the paintwork, I’ve done it loads of times, then use some white spirit or thinners to clean of the old sticky pads.
New sticky pads on the new plate and your away. Martyn

I found it easier to use a heat gun or the wifes hair dryer and heat the plate up starting at one corner, then prise the plate away from the body whilst keep heating the plate, If using a heat gun DO NOT burn the paintwork or melt the plate Big Cry then clean off any sticky pads as instructions above Thumbs Up

Too late I know, but I'd always recommend some heat and some fishing line/dental floss.
Any leftovers can be realty with by using a 'tar and glue' remover Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
