Did you get the DTC p402 since fitting blanking kit?As you have said not sure if the relevance but here is mine : 8H2Q-14C204-AB, hardware number: 8H2Q-12B684-AA , not sure if it's relevant but dealer added software update to wronging deal with excessive smoke on accelation( mainley due to blocked intercooler which they ignored!!) MY latest plan to change DTC from P0402 to P0401 by fitting modified butterfly with blanking plates in place has failed, 20 miles of fault free Mixed driving only for fault to return 20 metres from my house!!!! After readiing jag forum I Will fit one of the egr pipes and replace blanking plate with one with 8 mm bleeding hole as described here: http://jaguarforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1...65dcddc1a3 The search continues if this work I am contemplating fitting a bypass system with nonreturn valve taking air from the airbox rather than exhaust as in egr system and thereby keeping egr monitoring system happy? No DTC after 200 miles of mixed driving, I can't work out how HDC fault and lowering suspention is linked to P0402, but after replacing one of the blanking plates with one with 8 mm bleeding hole and fitting butterfly valve(with egr pipe) the codes has not returned and no more lowering susp. |

So what you are telling us is that we are not able to blank off the Euro 4 engines.

In short yes on my specific euro 4, but others have done it, without BAS's patch I will have to explore a bypass system, watch this space! |

Bad news, my car also developed under certain conditions fault similar to D4jww, even more codes it was all at once, so suspension, transmission etc. Turn ignition off and on and all was ok again. It was sporadic, but as I couldn’t; pinpoint to fault, I tried to unblock the EGR again, and that has solved the issue,

That's annoying Avos, my09 D3 is still running without Faults on 1 Egr blanked and the other connected to manifold in normal method with the difference being the blank plate with 8 mm hole( butterfly back). Its only a Intermediate method with some reduction in dirty air returning to engine. Let's hope the experts show some interested, with all the viewing of this tread and mine on disco3? |

Annoying indeed, but I will try to disable one side again, and see what that gives, and then maybe also later test with the 8mm you have choosen to go with.

Just a quick question - My EML has come on again !! had the same problem with my 08 after just 16,000,miles and had to have one of the EGR valves replaced at considerable landrover dealer cost.( the car was three years old and just out of warranty ) I have since learnt my lesson - The car has now done 36000miles and the fault has appeared again , I suspect its the other EGR valve . What damage will it do if one of the EGR valves has failed and I keep running it ???. Mt friends going to put it on the diagnostic later today to confirm the fault. |

Are you getting reduced engine performance as well? or just the light RRS gone

If you get reduced performance then you need to blank the faulty egr because it's stuck in open position. I have driven my D3 with same engine with one egr blanked and the other blanked as well with plate with bleeding hole. So effective running on one egr with butterfly not removed, no fault codes nor reduced performance. However I am beta testing an egr patch for Pete and he said best to remove the butterfly, to prevent the engine sucking oil via the crank ventilation rather than air, which could result in engine running to destruction because of oil burning. This is the very worse scenario with both EGRs blanked, I would say limited risk with running on one egr. But you would still have the EMS light. Two choices long term fit new egr or by remap from Bells autos(Pete) and when Pete has perfected the software patch no need to replace faulty EGRs. |
