Can park heating be activated before the hardware is installed?

Getting timed climate activated next week, but remote hardware may not be installed in time, and was hoping I don't need two visits to diagnostics people....

As rrsboy said the remote range is fantastic
The webasto website say range is upto 1000m i took this with a pinch of salt but i was amazed.
I pressed the button from at least 750m away and "hey Presto" it worked  RRS MY11 BALI BLUE OVERFINCH

i assume yours is the same but with the factory-fitted blipper you get a little green feedback light that flashes every second or so to confirm the heater has been activated! so for example park up and walk a LONG way away into the middle of a shopping centre or underground and have fun seeing if it will still pick up the signal

seriously, anyone know what type of radio signal it's using? assume some level of coding/encryption too to stop the blipper activating the wrong car? ============

Anyone activated the manual nav screen option on this? Would be interested as LR are not interested in helping me in a factory fitted version.

I don't want to be all gloom and doom, but will activating the FBH using an Indipendant garage not invalidate the Land Rover Warrenty?

Thats what my dealer told me last week Jim. I had some issues with my car and said as a goodwill gesture, maybe they could activate the Timed climate for me. They seemed very helpful initially, but then declined after speaking with JLR, they said that unfortunately JLR would not approve  ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Well according to my dealership and BC's dearlership it would.

But Ok, to be more constructive to you ask them how...also ask them to show you where, not a silly statement by someone that probably doesnt understand what you are talking about (remember dealers arent Land Rover and will play you)

You have not modified your car, it is a system that is avaliable on the car from production, designed to work with the car by Land Rover - it is their system, can be enabled by the dealer (yes it can - even though they may tell you it cant) and is operating as allowed by land rover system (you havent bodged a wire in to make it come on when you want)

By the same token, fitting any land rover accessory or trailer electrics, or having trailer electrics turned on whether you fit a genuine or none genuine accessory would invalidate the warranty. Changing the tyre size to an approved say 19" and having that set up on the car would also be the same. What about the updates to some of the systems eg turning on your halo lights??...can you see where this is going

Also ask them which bit of the warranty you are invalidating...the unit operates normally (regardless of Timed Climate) anyway and has no modification to it to operate etc

Oh and finally - on all our Land Rovers we have had different dealers do work and modifications based on location/price etc, how do they know Dealer X did or didnt turn on trailer electrics etc.

I think (Ok i know) your dealers are having you both on sorry - upgrade your dealers

By the way you LED replacement bulbs have just invalidated you wiring warranty  Mike
