I don't know why LR made the boot a 1 piece unit..... Much prefer the split tailgate MY10 HSE 3.0 TDV6 : Santorini Black : Ebony Interior w/Anigre wood : Privacy Glass (total) : Sunroof : Sidesteps : Hybrid TV : Detachable Tow Kit : Spare Wheel Cover : 22" Dished Supersports |

Me 2 - bar far the loss of the split tail gate is the worst feature of the 2012my...its not like shutting the boot is hard, unless a gangster quickly leaving the scene of a gun battle Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have tried re-setting and its still hit and miss if it opens. Will drop it back to the dealer and ask for my nuts to be tightened

I also agree that the one piece tailgate is the worst feature on the new model.

Must admit, I'm the complete opposite, I really didn't like the old 2 piece set up and was very pleased to see they'd changed it when I saw the new MY12. Each to their own ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

One incident I did have with my current car was during the half term holiday when I was driving with my son up to North Wales for a week to stay at my in-laws holiday house. We had packed the car up with all the kit we needed, plus food and drink for much of the week, so it was reasonably full.

^^^ Only in the sense that it would have raised straight away with the powered mechanism, rather than just 'releasing' the catch. You would have heard the noise of the motor lifting the tailgate.

+1 like the new one piece tailgate... and the hydraulic lift mechanism is fairly slick too....
