Update: 2 months on.....MY2012 SDV6

Well, earlier today I picked up my first RRS, a brand new MY2012 SDV6 HSE from LPR and I absolutely love it. Very Happy

Big thanks to Steve at LPR for an easy handover and also his help during the whole process. Thumbs Up

Drive home was brilliant and the traffic on the North Circular gave me plenty of time to play with the new toys. Cool
Unfortunately, by the time I got home it was dark, but I'll get some pictures up over the weekend.

Spec is standard HSE in Sumatra Black with Ivory leather/black wood, with privacy glass and tow bar.

Now reading through the handbook to see what other tricks the car has up it's sleeve. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

GONE: Land Rover Discovery 4 HSE - Stornaway Grey w/Black Interior (wish we'd kept it Banging Head )
GONE: BMW F10 520D MSport - Carbon Black

Thanks guys.

Not usually a manual reader, honest Wink but I saw on here about adjusting the suspension on the remote and no amount of 'playing with the buttons' revealed what to do, so I decided to RTFM. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Not as straight forward asvyou might hope, as it will only do it if the hazard flashers are on

@ Steve - No problem at all, credit where credits due. Handover was very comprehensive, and our dealings prior to pick up were effortless Thumbs Up Might be in touch next week for the pricing on a couple of RR accessories I've got my eye on Cool

@ Whealey - yes, over the moon, reluctantly left it on the drive this morning as I headed off for work.....still its the weekend tomorrow Very Happy although I'm sure Mrs Beancounter will add some mileage today Crying or Very sad
I see you're enjoying your new one too and adding some nice Overfinch bits Thumbs Up

Re: the remote control of the suspension. As npinks says, not as easy as I'd thought, I presume its more to use when you have managed to beach the car whilst off roading or similar. ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Here you go whealey, page 85 from the manual Wink .

http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/co...;id=162486
Click the link, then select 'Air Suspension form the list on the LHS Thumbs Up

Quote:
REMOTE OPERATION
The Smart Key can be operated from inside or outside the vehicle. It is therefore important that it is kept out of the reach of children at all times. When operating the Smart Key from inside the vehicle, make sure that an adult checks for obstructions under the vehicle and supervises the raising or lowering process.
Care should be taken with all height changes, when a trailer is attached to the vehicle.
The buttons on the Smart Key may be used to operate the air suspension system, allowing the vehicle to be raised or lowered remotely.
This may be useful in attaching a trailer or loading the vehicle.
To change the suspension height using the Smart Key, the vehicle must be stationary, all the doors closed and the hazard warning lamps switched on.

To raise the vehicle press and hold button (1) (Open padlock), then press and hold button (2) (Boot release).
To lower the vehicle press and hold button (1) (Lights), then press and hold button (3) If the starting height is above or below normal height, movement will cease when normal
height is reached. Release the Smart Key buttons and press again to continue.

Awwwe! They have done away with the terrain control knob! I preferred that , much more utilitarian!
Nice all the same!

+1 i love moving the terrain response knob to the left and flicking the shift into sport....

the 2012 cooking knob gearshift looks much better in the RRS than it does in the 2012 disco..

saw a MY2012 in green today on a transporter on the edinburgh bypass.. looked stunning 2011 MY- RRS HSE - Zermatt -Ebony-Piano .... its a monochrome world

Thanks guys.
I suppose as this is my first RRS, I'd not really seen the original gear stick so its not something I miss.
I have to confess though, I do like the clean lines the new rotary dial gives to the centre console.

Managed to get out and about in it at the weekend and have to say, the more I drive it, the more I love it. I'm very impressed the sequential turbo V6 engine, really is so smooth Mr. Green ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
