Bit of help with brakes please

Big Cry RRS just his 65k mot pass, but new discs and pads suggested front and rear. Got a price from a local independent seems a little expensive, but for genuine parts. Looked on internet/e-bay and lots of after market pads and discs available. Anybody used any of these? Any problems or recommendations???? For 2.7 tdv6

thanks ady , i am going on ebay now to have a look now. not something i will enjoy doing but it will get me out of watching x factor
out of interest if you can do this job yourself ? how long would you say it should take to change all 4 discs and pads ? it would just give me an idea of what someone might charge to fit if i was to supply them.

the dealers are in on this scam.. number of times I have been told either

- brake pads 80-90% worn
- wipers worn
- tyres near the end of their life
- brake discs showing signs of wear

and then still got more than another year out of said component is quite hilarious. Well, it would be if it wasn't so damn offensive.

Rolling with laughter ============
2010 TDV8 HSE - ooo laa laaaaaaaaa
2007 TDV8 HSE - superb car and very reliable
============
2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8!

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Did the fronts myself recently. Dead easy about 3 hours start to finish, including a respray of the calipers in gloss black and new Brembo stickers.

I did stick with original parts though. Do shop around the dealers for best price. I spotted a good deal on ebay from a LR dealer and then got my local parts dept to beat it on the discs. Saved £45 off the first quoted price TDV8 now with extra grin factor thanks to Alive Tunning: Gone but not forgotten
