Having now travelled to the dealers in question and viewed the car I can now see what's happened
The oil pump casing has a tensioner mounted at the top of the casting. The oil pump casing has snapped meaning that the tensioner has then come of it's mounting point and the belt has become loose and causing major engine damage.
The tensioner adjuster allen key hole shows signs of being over tightened and then locked up on it's 13 mm headed bolt causing the casing to snap
The tensioner and all other idlers all spin freely but requires another engine.
I will be ringing the dealers tomorrow but the head technician and service manager agree with my findings

Bulldog would that be Barrets landrover Question  SDV8 vogue SE.
Corris grey and ivory leather + most of the toys.
Limited edition RRS model number 0001 Smile
Gone TDV8 RR Sport. Never to be forgotten.

Wife has an i8 BMW

Hi All,

Quick question. Why does my order form say SDV6 but all insurance companies refer to the car as a TDV6?

thanks

Josh

Insist your insurance company do their homework and tell them it is an SDV6 and not a TDV6 seen as they are so pedantic about wording on insurance policys, Assuming you are buying the new 2012 model. Thumbs Up
