Confused.com Laughing

I may try 255/50 tyres on my 20" wheels, I'm confident with careful tire size selection you could get similar ride quality resutls to that of a 19" wheel in stock guise on UK roads.

Really looking forward to getting rid of my 275/40 Continentals. I did drive a sport a few weeks back that had 275/45 tires as opposed to the OEM size of 275/40, that slightly taller profile / sidewall made the world of difference in road manners and also filled the arches a little. Here is a pic from my sold gallery, I put it in access mode for the pics but you can see the difference. Drove lovely and was 85k Thumbs Up

Anyhow I can see how some people need winter tyres, really depends where you live and what you do. I'g going to try and meet in the middle by keeping my 20's on all year round and getting some AT Grabbers. I don't need "Performance" tyres on my RRS, I drive it like a nanny and live in central London. I use it as it's pimp, & when I want to have fun I drive a 600hp stripped out roll caged RWD Skyline, and get up to mischief Laughing

How on earth do people live with a RRS shod with 22" wheels and tyres? Must wreck their fillings and rattle the car to bits Rolling Eyes

When your used to driving sports cars with stiff suspension and low profile tyres, 22's on a sport is not bad at all, ok one or two fillings have fallen out Laughing but i havn't had any suspension issues.

Can't make any sense of that dialogue - maybe that is what happens to you when you try to drive on 22" wheels, bounces your brain in to submission. Laughing

Seriously though, why do car manufacturers believe we prefer to have a seriously uncomfortable ride just to look good to passers by? I administer a Forum for E-Type's and owners readily dump the standard 5" wide wire wheels and fit 6" with modern low profile rubber. Makes an already low car 1" lower, the unassisted steering really heavy, the ride harsher and knackers the handling. Why? - "it looks better". Personally I don't give a toss what others think as the best view, even of an E-Type, is from the driving seat. Twisted Evil '10 Range Rover Sport TDV8
