England 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Siberian Silver

The whole reason i ended up in this sport is that I agreed a value on my last FFRR to get out of it as it was constantly turning to a pumpkin. Now here I am again. Sad
So my fantastic relationship with my dealer means that its now 13:34 and still no one has rung me to let me know whats happening with it .... Im itching to ring but why the hell should i.

Ive written a letter to the dealer several times because i think its too severe then i think its too calm. Argh I got mind block ! Smile

Foxy, with the good relationship you have with your dealer, i thought a courtesy call from them would of been at least they could do Mr. Green

Foxy

You can let them have both barrels; its how you feel and whilst there's no need to be impolite you have no reason to avoid letting them know you're annoyed and thoroughly cheesed off. As negotiations progress you can always appear to be being terribly reasonable when you back off just a little bit !!!

After all £60 grand ain't chicken feed and they're big boys so should be able to put up with a bit of heat. believe me, having been a Dealer Principal I can tell you they will have formed a clear idea of what their position is.

If you have any specific queries and want an outsiders view you can PM me and I'll give you an opinion for what its worth

In all fairness to LR, foxy's paint issues are with a third party who foxy's dealer used to colour code the car when new and not factory colour coded like your A/B jonny, as for the electric gremlins i would throw it back at them for good and do a deal with a 2012 model just to see if they have improved any. Surprised

Ady,
I can understand it's the dealers responsibility re the repaint of the black plastic trims when they colour coated them but what about that mess on the wing above, when did that happen Foxy? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

ChrisP, This has always been like it !

I couldnt give a monkey's if noddy or big ears painted it. The fact is that my money still exchanged hands via LR. I didnt say right ill buy the car and then take the extra bits please but get XXX to invoice me seperatley . I bought it from the showroom as a LR product. How was i to know that it was a 3rd party responsible for the colour coding. And in truthfulness I didnt know this at first.

DrDelrrs: I will Pm you later. Im a little busy trying to run round after everything today. But i really appreciate your help. Smile

I just had a call from my dealer at 14:45 who have confirmed the fault of the assist guy and will be now looking at rectifying it. But literally 2 minutes after they called so did enterprise wanting their car back. Errr Nope I dont think so . . . . This is because if a car is recovered into dealer they only have 48 hours to turn it round. Well we are on 26 and counting ! Smile

Once the 48 is up it's then the dealer who pays the charges and not the contract between LR and Enterprise, so I was told by a lass at Enterprise when I had a FFRR and the dealer wanted to put me in their FL2 Loan car instead, still I managed 10 days as a lord Laughing

I think the dealer has to contact Enterprise to give Authority Iirc

Concur on the loan car...... The Lr Assist contract means Entersurprise can only have their car back once yours is fixed (ie the breakdown), sorry to say it but the paint work is an issue twixt Dealership and you & it will be @ their discretion to give you alternative transport whilst that is sorted, the paint problem on the wing could be wriggled out of by saying you've had the car for X months and are trying to load your case, it's frustrating but thats the way of it, take a deep breath, step back and re-evaluate, the stress only puts people in hospital ! They have acknowledged that the issue is theirs with the paint as they have apparently "rectified this issue once" ... Therefore i would say admitting liability.

Only problem is i think that the job card got piced up by Bert & Ernie to paint by Censored numbers. Smile

So same problem I had then Foxy, repainted after defects found and resprayed badly, hope you have better luck than I did,I've just given up worrying but the difference is its not my car and my lease company have all the defects on file so it's their problem going forward and at resale time.
Problem as I see it,even if they do agree to take it back which they should, what would you replace it with, there's nothing out there at the moment that comes close.
Surely somebody at JLR must be doing the sums on the cost of quality when so many are leaving the factory with horrendous defects when Stevie Wonder in QC is on shift or perhaps they are under so much pressure that they know they are defective but would end up with virtually a closed loop production line if they rejected all the ones which needed rectification at the factory so leave it to the dealers to turn and blind eye during PDI and hope customers either don't notice or complain.
For anyone else picking up a new RRS in the future I would really recommend you take somebody with you who is experienced and thoroughly check every detail before you sign for it and reject it rather than hope it will be sorted out afterwards. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.
