England 2011 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black

Think there was a sport on here from the Yeovil dealer that had same problems and found out it was the wireing loom that got trapped. They had to change the whole loom on the car but when they done it the car was perfect. That was a few years ago. But sorry to hear your car is poorly foxy. Big Cry

Engine Failure: Oh and Crap Paint Quality Too !

Thanks Guys

I have lost all patience with this car. It cost 60k, as you know.

Its been in twice for the paint work and guess what on Friday I noticed that it was inferior again and peeling. see pictures : Also you can tell on one of the panels that it was the the office tea maker whos sprayed it as the paint is thick its bloody orange peel, no not orange more like bloody potatoe peel! I know I keep asking this question, but do you think im being too picky? Oh and yes this is in 3 different places !
Big Cry (pictures should be rotated left .I dont know why they arent )

Foxy, that paint is disgraceful, I would ask the dealer to use a body shop who know what they are doing.

My old Sport was riddled with electrical gremlins which after 2 years with no sign of them abating, was the reason it had to go in the end.

Now in a FFRR with a sinking sensation that I am starting the process again Big Cry

Well SImon, Weve done the same thing only opposite way round. Ive come from a long history of FFRR SE's to the sport.
Each one of the FFRR ended up being a disaster. I even knew the assist guys in my area by first name, I even knew their kids names.

I am really considering changing brand. Ive had it with my love of Range Rovers, I really think Ive reached my limit.

Send them an email straight away and kick off big style. Feeling sorry for you big style. just having no luck at mo. I've had land rovers for years, touch wood, end nearly trouble free too. Is this your first land rover? Mind you your sport is going to be at the dealers too so can they get it sorted from there end? Also do you have faith in your dealer? Mine is yeovil and they are brill. It does help if you have a good one. Chin up girl I'm sure it will be ok in the end. Thumbs Up

I have a really good history with my dealer, but i dont feel angry i just feel tired. Tired of having the same Censored issues again and again.

I think this is my 3rd consecutive Range Rover in as many years. The last three proving to be a testing experience. I may just cut my loses. Im going to draft a letter to Landrover in the morning, Im lucky I have a full diary of events for the last 3 years worth of Range Rovers. So Im going to sock it to them big style. Smile

Is that the front end that was repaired twice after the chinky bump ?? If so IT IS bloody awfull, you have put a lot of money LR's way and as you say have a good relationship with the local guys, I reckon book an appointment with whoever you normally deal with and the DP, dont take any BS over the day or time, tomorrow or Tues latest.... I guess the car is there already, and just nail them with the mech/electrical issues and the V V poor quality of the paint repairs, get THEM on the back foot......... you CAN do it, if they come out with the usual drivel tell 'em that they are a right shower of lady gardens and go get a Q7..... Andy I would rather eat worms that get a q7 !

Im going to in at Head office level now with my complaint. As I will get the usual from my dealer and to be honest, they can only stick to protocol.

This is not the front bumper this is the back bumper and two back door skirts Sad Smile

So where they coded after purchase or factory ? I agree with going the HQ route, but notify the DP and his head office if its a big outfit with several branches, when I had the issues with Grange (part of the Cambria group) I sent them all my letter of complaint with a covering letter by e-mail saying who it was CC'd to and had the car back by 12 the following day, JLR themselves investigated and pressurised Cambria into bending over backwards to sort it, but the general concensus is that once the car leaves JLR it's the dealers problem. 08 2.7 RRS "S"

Foxy, Sorry to hear about all your woes with the car Crying or Very sad

On the issue of the paint quality: The pics you have posted show an awful paint job, completely unnaceptable.
On the issue of the Orange peel, I had this when I got my car and it turned out to be due to the valeting guy at the dealer not cleaning off the shipping coating properly before applying a supagard treatment. It really did look like orange peel effect on the paint. The dealer took the car back in and re-did the whole job and it came back gleaming.

I have to say though, with all the problems you've had I think even my patience would have been exhausted and I'd be looking for a replacement vehicle or my money back!

Hope you get it all sorted to your satisfaction.

Looks terrible Confused

however, if its the parts that have been repaired, or the ones that were colour coded, I can not see LRHQ getting involved in this side of things, as its the dealer who did this work thats using the Censored bodyshop

I would head to the DP, look towards them supplying new replacement parts which i believe just come in base coat primer and have a descent bodyshop paint these up as they are obviously not, cleaning and preparing the previously painted panels correctly (however they have to do this i'm not sure)

But Obviously still tackle LRHQ on the wiring loom etc

Good luck, i have been through similar, my first FL2 was a bit of a pig and was back a fair few times, sorted itself out in the end though, but my current one from LPR is spot on (bar a minor rear diff replacement)

Foxy,

I am sure you realise but just remember your 'contract' is with the dealer. They may or may not get backup from JLR; that's not your problem.

I'd be sure to go to JLR with the Dealer's backup but, failing that I'd strongly recommend (if your dealer's part of a big group) you follow my message above and, get a value agreed with them and use this as leverage.

JLR may agree to replace but if you want to change marques you need cash from the dealer.
