Today an independent engineer is coming to look at them and he will report back to his insurers, who have been quite helpful so far. I've contacted trading standards and got a letter to send him that they gave me to download stating the consumer rights act. Today i need to get hold of the garage who worked on it earlier in the week to see if they will give a statement on the condition of the wheels.

You are quite right to be angry mate, I'm suprised you showed so much restraint when the Owner laughed in your face. I for one wouldn't but then again, I would have probably ended up with nothing and an assualt charge all because of some incompetent a55hole

I'm just around the corner from AMS and have met the owner several times, obnoxious is the first word that springs to mind, he is notorious for over pricing...........and a little point of interest is that most of the monkeys working there all jumped ship from the Kwik Fit on Seaway road..............after they scratched the wheels on my XF whilst undoing the wheel nuts, they then went on to set up the front end which killed a tyre on a trip to Brum.........5mm toe out !! and then insisted that I had hit something to put the tracking that far out, I wouldnt touch them with your barge pole. Best price and service normally comes from Brixham tyres a decent family run outfit.

Mine were scratched around wheel nuts last month during service at Dealer - I had just had alloys refurbished prior to service too

Thanks for that Andy, my local taxi firm have also recommended Brixam tyres i will definitely check them out the next time i need tyres. We are new to the area and you can't beat recommended garages they are few and far between. Word of mouth says alot and so far the feed back that i have recieved about AMS Tyres has been dreadful. The owner is one of the most jumped up arrogant self indulged people i have ever had the unfortunate opportunity to come across. I can't believe people like him treat others like this and actually stay in business!!! Luckily for me i'm a great believer in what goes around comes around.

Yep he magics the beans alright ! No respect for others, pledges best prices and pays the nmw to his staff, good economics but breeds contempt, I used to help on Torquay Marina as a night berthing master, putting boats on berths etc and hourly rounds of the whole site, good money and kept me out of the pub when on normal leave, one night got 3 big yachts due in and on the radio and in walks a short fat curly haired person all full of himself with mates, ploughs through the sweet section demanding an instant response, told him I was otherwise engaged dealing with more important matters, he complained to MDL about my conduct, I logged exactly what was happening and got a pat on the back for holding my ground and concentrating on what I should have been doing i.e. berthing boats that pay £80 a night and not some gimp wanting £6.90's worth of Curly Wurlys and Mars Bars, anyway any help needed down this way shout..... I'm pretty clued up and so is my Ferrari trained m8 with his own unit in Ellacombe |

Finally got my cheque through off the insurers of that towrag at AMS Tyres. What did the owner of the garage say to me again? "Mrs i couldn't give a monkeys about your wheels. You don't stand a chance of getting anything out of my insurers".
