I have the Bose Wave system in the kitchen, (came free with it at the old house), I think that sounds great, as does the Lifestyle system my bros in law has around his house

The Wave system may be a good alternative as it has the sound plus the radio? You can get a dock for the iPod also Thumbs Up

I went for the portable so I could take it places, brilliant little thing!

not interested in the radio, I have a DAB in the kitchen already...

This just needs to re-produce the best sound quality an I-pod can make.

I agree the Bose systems perform very well... but I was hoping for something a little more dynamic in design to go with the sound!

I like the Focal XS system, but it's not a one box solution.

The Philips Fidelio DS9000 gets a good write up

I have a couple of apple airports around the house hooked up to the home cinema/bose 2.1 system and hifi's and can use airplay to stream from the iphone/ipad/ to each individually, or use the phone/ipad as a remote and stream from my mac's itunes all around the house simultaneously.

The full sized Zep sounds better IMHO than the mini

Thought you could only stream to one airport at a time Confused But I only have one at moment but would get more if you can, to amp up the garden, conservatory, bathroom etc and if I can do them all to play it would be good

Nick, you can stream from iTunes to multiple airports/ apple tv's, in iTunes set up your preferences to use multiple speakers and the iTunes will find all the devices on your network. I currently have 3 airport expresses and an apple tv and can stream to all at the same time. 2 airports are in full time use and th third gets used when I am travelling assume hotels only have Ethernet connections for the Internet and I like to use 1 for creating my own network then I can use th wifi on my phone etc.

One thing I need tocheck is if I can override the iTunes steaming to the network and use AirPlay with a specific set of speakers at the same time. Not tried it yet but would be interesting to see how the system is configured to handle this scenario

I have both, depends on what room you intend to put it in. I have the ful fat zep in the kitchen and it's awesome. Slight caution though it's been returned twice as it stopped recognising my iPhone

The Fidelio is surprisingly good, especially with punchier bass.

A friend had the big zep and I love it - gonna get myself one MY10 HSE 3.0 TDV6 : Santorini Black : Ebony Interior w/Anigre wood : Privacy Glass (total) : Sunroof : Sidesteps : Hybrid TV : Detachable Tow Kit : Spare Wheel Cover : 22" Dished Supersports
