I first thought you had to turn the engine off especially to let the air settle in the tank - which probably explains the reading.

It is a higher octane of fuel (97 RON or so compared to the Standard of 95), you will probably find that in your owners manual etc i recommends to use the higher octane fuel. If this is the case then the car's map will be designed around a fuel of a higher octane than that of the fuel you are currently using which will be causing a reduction in power...some extreme cases it can cause "pinking". |

I might try v-power, see how it goes - like i said, i agree the difference between supermarket (cheap one) and shell better quality...but v-power has always seemed one step too far! Mike

The flip side of the coin is that the Range Rover Sports value goes down quicker here than anywhere else in the world.

I've done some research on this and found that the expected fuel 'Range' number is an estimation calculated by the previous tank full of fuel.

Was at the LRE in Dunkeld on Friday and the staff all recommend premium diesel. One girl used to work at a fuel provider and stated that as well as better performance, cleaner engine, reduced emissions you can expect at least 24 miles extra to the tank. Doesnt seem much but at 22mpg around town its a big saving. Now - MY11 RRS Autobiography TDV6, Orkney gray, tints, steps, daylight running lamps and allllll the toys!!!
