the dealer should have inspected the car when it was accepted at the service department....next time insist that they do..and then there is no dispute if there is any damage after...like everyone else has said looks like the put wheels face down..the fact that theyve agreed to do the refurb shows the think they were responsible |

In my experience body shops are poor at re furbing wheels, find a local wheel re furb specialist and have them all powder coated the same colour, make the dealer pay for at least two to be done, I wouldn't let them put air in my tyres after they already damaged two wheels and tried to deny it.

They use a mobile guy apparantly, and I've spoken to a few people tonight who say it's un noticeable after?

A lot of the time the mobile guys just sand down the marks and then spray over with silver paint. I would be demanding either replacement wheels...or they are sent to a professional of YOUR choice for refurb. Obviously you will need a vehicle in the meantime whilst yours is off the road. I once made the mistake of using a mobile wheel refurber to do my CSL wheels only for the paint to flake off a month down the line |

Insist on replacement wheels unless they can give you a rock solid minimum 12 months gaurantee on the refurbed wheels and a gauranteed colour match. as said above, these wheels have been laid on their face then dragged when lifting up off the floor

Don't go for a mobile guy.. Insist on a proper strip and refurb as a minimum... Mobile guys dont remove tyres etc...

In my experience the refurb is as good as the person doing it. I had all 4 RRS wheels refurbished after taking it off road and the results were perfect, and the wheels were pretty scratched up. This was a mobile guy in a van that the main dealers use. I also has some Alfa 19" TI wheels refurbished by a smart repair company with a proper workshop and the results were shocking. I had them redo them twice and I still wasn't really happy with them. It was barely good enough for going back to the lease company.

I'm not in the habit of causing a company financial harm, I have my own business and I imagine it would not be nice, but I also know a lot about customer service and if things aren't done properly I will name and shame the dealer without hesitation! |

You are only entitled to be put back in the position you were before the 'damage'.

Just had mine serviced and the guys inspected the whole vehicle before they started works, received a report stating that the damaged was caused before they took the vehicle along with no obligation quote to refurbish. I didn't do it because I want to replace them soon. That's how it should be done! |

All coments noted - it takes an idiot to lay a wheel on its face - they need to learn from error and you need condition restoring - all too often customers don't want to confront or relax standards to avoid conflict - net result is lowering of standards and expectations and it spirals down - In business or not if the service provider is at fault then it is their issue - did you pay for the service on credit card ? They will assist with the issue if so.... |
