2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Last time I had a car serviced by the excellent service department at Lookers Park Royal the service receptionist Lisa came out to the car with me and went over it just like a hire car returns clerk does, every imperfection was noted on a sheet - I was impressed but she explained that in London they have to do that. Certainly the dealership in my local town don't bother and won't make good damage if you don't point it out before leaving their premises - it states that is their policy on the documents you sign when dropping the car off for servicing/ work. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

You are only entitled to be put back in the position you were before the 'damage'.

New wheels would see you being better off than you were - what is called "betterment" by unsurers who are entitled to make you pay if after a repair if your cars is in better shape than before.

All you can ask is that the problem they caused is rectified to a professional, as original condition i.e. fully colour matched and to the standard for an expensive vehicle.

This - if you think about it - is fair as we'll assume it was accidental and a mistake that scuffed the wheels not deliberate vandalism.

The wheels were almost brand new so I would expect replacements to put me back in the position I was in. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

I had a chat with the service manager yesterday and they are getting refurbed next week.

Like it has been mentioned, to demand a new set when a cheaper alternative is available and may have the same end result is not in the dealers interest and I don't think it's worth doing, yet.

If the refurb is not to my satisfaction then I will demand 2 new alloys, but I feel it is only fair to let them have a go.

The stock list of this dealer is very expensive and they use this guy all the time so fingers crossed he's good, failing that 2 new wheels will be ordered and the invoice forwarded to them.

I think the excellent service was when Lisa was bending down while you were noting her imperfections.... Mr. Green

When I had my FFRR i took my car into the garage for a problem it had and when I went to pick it up i noticed someone had done one of my alloys which are always pristine!!!!

Within an hour they had called the refurb guy out and had the problem fixed and sorted. You could not tell that there had been a problem. However make sure that you stay clear of the car wash for at least three days after, otherwise you get what looks like someone's done the job with a a piece of sticky tape ! Then you have to go back and get them to do it again. Embarassed Smile
