Just brought a new rrs from these guys.Dont touch them with a barge pole.Had lots of problems with the new car and they told me to take it to lancaster Reading to get it sorted.Made complaint to land rover uk and also writing a letter to chief executive of the Harwoods group.

I popped in there 3 times over the past few months when looking for my RRS and was treated with complete indifference. I don't know if it was the way I looked or what but they couldn't care less.

The receptionist was professional and the finance girl was really friendly but the young sales guy had obviously already met his targets for the quarter!!

Anyway I got my RRS in the end from elsewhere.

Have any of you guys used Lancasters Service Centre in Thatcham? Opinions?

Lancaster's stand alone service dept in Thatcham is great, we have dealt with Ian the manager for many years. They collect the car from our offices in Henley, all warranty work is carried out efficently, he is always keen on pricing for servicing as well...

From personal experience Harwoods can be a bit hit and miss, the same goes for the Jaguar dealership also on site. It shouldn't be the case, but unfortunately it is.............shame really because the Jaguar day they organised was brilliant and Guy Harwood was a great host. Last time I went in there I walked within 5 minutes as the salesmen on offer looked inadequate to tie my shoe lace let alone sell me a car.

As for Lancasters, usually spot on Sales wise, but as proven last weekend, a friend of mine was ignored completely by 3 of them and they had F k all going on.........he was in the market for an Evoque! Their loss.

Servicing from Lancasters has to be their best assett, Doug Calver in Reading is excellent and also offers good rates probably on par with Ian at Thatcham as its the same company  L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

45 others have been and gone!

The sales guy was ok until i picked up the car.The car mats were wrong,the boot liner didint turn up.So had to go down to them (about 40min drive) to get them when they were in.Went into the reception and was told by the sales guy there is your stuff swap the mats over and bring the others back in.Thought they could have done this for me.The worst thing was the wing didnt line up with the door it really stood out.Was told by the warrenty person and the workshop manager the car will have to go back into the body shop but best bet to take it back to reading to get it sorted.The bodyshop guy at reading was really good and could not believe the way i have been treated and how it left the garage like that..Land rover uk have now offered to pay for the first service.May be after being a lexus customer for the last 10 years i am expecting too much!!

Just had the Rangey serviced here. I got a good level of customer service so I'm happy

They have even sorted my steering wheel wobble as part of the service, without incurring any cost

Another thing crossed off my list of niggles -and this was the one that was really starting to irritate me ........

At the moment it feels like a new car to drive, much smoother and more responsive.

My experience with the Service side at Harwoods (and in their previous incarnation as Webbers) was dismal . Salesman on the other hand was good and TBH seemed embarassed by my experiences with Service. To be fair I haven't been back to them in 3 years as a result, so things might have changed. Doesn't sound like it though, from your experience tigertrout...

I was in there last week and was in and out within 10 minutes. The salesperson I spoke to didnt seem interested at all, ill not be going back despite it being my local garage.

I found them reasonably helpful with my recent purchase.

That was until my personal circumstances changed and I needed to sell my RRS. Having bought it for just over £26k, 8 weeks later they offered me £18k " as a favour due to being a good customer!"

Has anyone got a more recent experience with Harwoods Basingstoke?
In Novemver I need to service my MY10 supercharged and for a major service (belt, v-belt, spark plugs, oil) I was quoted £750 at Harwoods and around £950 at Guy Salmon in Ascot.
What would you recommend guys?
The car was previously serviced exclusively at Guy Salmon but up north.

They are spot on in my experience - used them for lots of warranty issues. FIr prices and if you become a regular you can normally command discounts
