Big Daddy and an Audi.......after 4 years with the HST and the incessant knocking, it absolutely was the right time for it to go. Would I have another......probably, but not until the revision in 2014 and certainly not until L405 has graced my driveway I do enjoy the many comments on here reference "on stilts" for the Beemers, nice to see that people can actually see their niche market place, i.e. just like any other BMW, just higher. Great engines yes, practical and fit for purpose, the prior in some peoples situations probably, the latter unlikely as in all honesty BMW may as well do away with the "4x4" trickery as from most reports and personal experiences it is no better than a normal car, caveated heavily of course that it will go through a puddle without falter! Wow .... whats intriguing is that I posted the same post on an X5 forum .... by far less people defending the X5 than the RRS

Seems a strange thing to do, justify spending lots of money changing cars to save money on fuel.

Have you tried the TDv8 4.4 FFRR before you go to an X5?

That logic is exactly why I haven't changed it so far ... the cost to change is a lot of fuel! ...... the only issue I have is that my RRS has done 90,000 miles and therefore ..... with my experience of RR could be a big bill round the corner before long! 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged (OVERFINCH Upgrades) - love it to bits ... but 14 MPG ... ouch 2002 BMW M3 Convertible SMG - great but not as father of 2 young children! 2003 Full Fat Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 - loved it ... stolen ! 2001 P38 Range Rover Autobiograhy 4.6 - great car, reliable 2001 BMW 728i Sport - great but no RR 2001 BMW 330ci Convertible - rubbish gearbox 1997 P38 Range Rover Vogue 4.6 - great car, not reliable |
