My current RRS (2008 2.7TD) had a slight coolant leak when new which was detected and fixed by the dealer. Since then no problems. My previous vehicle was a 1984 RR Classic (4 door, 5 speed manual) which I bought new and owned for 24 years before moving to the RRS. When I sold it (2 years ago) it was complete and original with the only problem being that it stopped suddenly once which was down to a dirty fuse box. Only parts replaced were the brake master cylinder and head gaskets, aside from normal consumables. Never let me down and she went everywhere. |

Ive had 3 classics, 2 P38's 1 freelander, 1 defender, and the RRS, only the P38 had a problem with the aircon, the RRS has been the most reliable car I have ever owned in 35 years of driving? |

I understand what you are saying but look at the evidence - 1. my 7 previous/faultless LR were built before TATA. 2. You're 2006 RRS is pre TATA 3. I am having problems with a 2010 RRS (built by TATA) and 4. comparing the service now to before TATA.... This is what I am worried about Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW Still hoping for a S2 one day! |

Sorry you are having problems but I wouldn't think it has anything to do with TATA, as far as I'm aware TATA have only got a management team in JLR at the moment, Engineers, Fitters, Suppliers, components, processes havent been changed yet, they all build good ones and bad ones? |

I don't think it's solely down to Tata. Ford had input long before Tata and coincidently they bought Volvo too. I had 3 Volvo's, 2 prior to Ford's involvement which were brilliant. Never went near the garage apart from servicing and the then 2008 model which was never OUT of the garage. My RRS went fine for 6 months apart from 2 small problems then had a complete nervous breakdown after that! It was so bad LR bought it back off me!

Stratstone Nottingham sold me RRS and are supposed to pay for LED wiring as they missed it on PDI.

Re missing bit, ok s t happens and whoever didn't have that part in the factory couldn't be arsed logging it for rectification. On two factory tours when asked what happens if a bit is not available at the right stage, the reply was a shrug and answer that it just continues. Whether it gets rectified depends on how major it is (like whether the car will run with it or not) and whether the bod at that station logs it. Explains why parts were missoing on my 06 D3. Great if I spot them within 3 years, and obviously my time wasted is of no consequence getting it sorted.

Interesting point re: door LED wiring. I had a Sept 09 delivered MY10 TDV8 which LR eventually replaced (with a TDV6 beacuse the TDV8 had gone out of production by the time LR gave in!! ) due to endless faults and manafacturing issues (Even the new TDV6 went mental over the Christmas break with the dash lighting up like a Christmas tree and is off to the dealers)

After 7 months of problems it looks as though I finally got everything sorted and I am pleased to say LRCS and Stratstone are trying to make it up to me
