Whereabouts in the rear is the module? I'm going to try the Handsfree Profile thing, if no luck then do as you are and unplug the module. If both fail then the dealers for a check and take it from there ....

Drivers side rear.

Take the steel cargo hooks off, remove the panels then the carpet side panels should pull out. Its in there and im told just unplug it wait a bit then plug it back in and it should reset.

It will be tomorrow at the earliest for me.

Carlos, if you can do take some pics of the sequence for removal, sounds simple but pictures are always better!

Alex, that's a very kind offer, if Carlos has no luck and takes you up on it (or not!) and I get nowhere too I'd be happy to have a borrow afterwards Wink

Hi kismet

I removed the panel at the weekend but didnt take any pictures since i just removed the 2 cargo net hooks and the trim lifts out allowing the carpeted side panel to be popped off. I have to admit it did seem like it was initially glued in some way and i may have detached it Sad

Anyway i removed a multi pin connector and another which had 2 yellow cables (i think they were yellow from memory) but it made no difference, still not BT connection.

Have you been in to have yours checked yet ?.

Carl

Hi Carlos

That's a shame, I guess it was worth a try. I'm booked in for Monday for the pre-tensioner, have mentioned to them about the PTI not working so she made a note to get diags run specifically for that; when I find out more I'll pass on the info.

To some people it's probably not a big deal but I really wanna get this to work - especially as I've bought the cradle, Nokia & SIM specifically for this purpose Neutral

Hi kismet

I'm confused now. If you are fitting the cradle and sim then isn't that a a wired system rather than Bluetooth where you have your phone in your pocket for example ?.

Hi

To clarify, mine doesn't work via the cradle or Bluetooth! Tried pairing two other handsets via BT also (iPhone 3GS + BlackBerry Bold) - zilch.

I want to be able to leave the Nokia handset connected, make/receive calls via the paddle controls/dashboard, not fussed about BT.

As promised an update on the above; dealership just called to state they tested the PTI module, needs replacing - at a cost of £337 Shocked

He said they switched the module with one from a demo vehcicle to test and it all worked fine. Keen to get the PTI stuff working but not so keen on spending that much!

Anyone have any suggestions/advice for alternative sourcing of the PTI module?

That's bad news mate. I hope mine isn't the same.

Ripon Land Rover quoted me £176 = VAT & £40 to fit for a new module (part no LR010608).

Ask them to show you it working with the other module. BTW i have been told there is a newer one that those in the 2005 so it may be that they are going to charge for a new one knowing that it is better and saves them trying to figure out what's up with yours ?.

Do you trust the dealer ?.

Can't really see it working as I drop the car off before work then get a tube into London, have no reason to not trust them but who knows?

When I speak to them again I'll ask if the price they quoted is for a newer unit or the original (maybe quote the part number you mentioned).

Shame as I've bought the Cradle & Nokia but hey-ho, maybe I can source it cheaper ....

Hey Guys just found this link:

http://discussions.nokia.co.uk/t5/Accessor.../m-p/29526

It seems the cradle only works on the 6230 and not the "I" without a software upgrade.

Hope that helps on some way.

Cheers

Thanks for the above, mine is an "i" but, according to the dealership, the PTI module is itself faulty - although this does beg the question how did they test it with the replacement module and my 'phone?

I'll ask more when they call tomorrow but none of this fills me with much confidence really; £5 devices work fine with phone connectivity over wires and/or BT yet a £60K+ car with expensive module doesn't .... Confused

Kismet, I think they've taken the easy option. The PTI module from their demonstrater will be the newer version of the module and software. They need to check what software is installed on your PTI and demonstrate this to you either on screen or as a print out. If you have the newest software for the old PTI and it's not working then fair enough you need a new module as the cradle works... 2006 RRS S/C CONSTANTLY under modification...

Agree with you, easy option! Just got a call back from the dealership, they inform me they can't extract info about the PTI firmware revision because it's defective/dead?

No way for me to ascertain one way or another but a kind member on this forum has offered to loan me a spare module to test out so let's see what happens.
