Bit of history first, it may or may not be related...
First started coming up 'Engine System Fault' on the dash whenever you floored the car. P2290 was stored. Changed the fuel filter and all was well for 3 weeks, then it started doing it all the time but only when driving. HPFP was fubar'd, so got a nice new one, along with low pressure pump, 6 injectors, fuel rails etc. Whole system was changed/flushed through
Has been fine for 2 months, until today, has now stored code P2288, and comes up engine fault whenever it is started. Changed the filter again but no luck. Car sometimes struggles to start, and diesel 'knock' is quite bad, and generally runs like poo... Its almost like there is a faulty sensor someplace, but my fault reader is a bit pants TBH, and only gives P2288, injector control pressure too low or high (cant remember)
Any ideas?

Have no experience yet with this but heree is some more info:
2290 = "Injector Control Pressure Too Low"
2288 = "Injector Control Pressure Too High "
Text from the DTC:
Check the fuel pressure, refer to the relevant section of the workshop manual. Check the fuel pump module circuits and the FPCV circuits. Refer to the electrical guides. For FPCV and fuel injection pump, refer to the relevant workshop manual section
