newbie writes....06 HSE issues....not few

hi all! i'm from romania and just recently i bought an 06 HSE with 95.000 km on it. it took a little bit of getting use to, as i previously had owned an '01 nissan patrol. at first i thought...WOW! this is perfection at its best, as the patrol was very rough around the edges, but now i'm a little hesitant....here's why:

1) the car smokes like hell when throttle is at full (any gear, especially when overtaking, plus a lack of power)....my local dealer said right away, turbo problems, replacement is needed. went to another service, they told me, intake problems....but they need more time with the car(wich i don't really have) to check out the intercooler and hoses for cracks or holes....so if you guys can help, i would be very grateful...this is the most annoying issue of all. the nasty part is that a new intercooler would arrive only in a week's time as no dealership in romania or hungary has one in stock.

2) the upper tailgate won't open....i've read here that the whole tailgate might need replacement....is this true, or is there another way to sort this out?

3) i get a very annoying shount/jolt at low speed when reapplying the throttle, it happens once or twice every week, issue or characteristic?

H there
I can't answer the problems you have with the smoke or judder but the tailgate issue is common.
Have a read here: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic18581.html

The top intercooler hose can cause smokyness under acceleration, but it's a cheap part and you can do it yourself. I had mine replaced at my last service. I'm not saying that is what it is though as I haven't a clue, beyond my own experience. Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate

Did you find the problem with the joult as mine seems to do the same?

Is it like its decided what gear to go into when you've slowed down but doesn't go in smoothly?

yup....exactly! still don't have a clue....i think it needs a software upgrade but here in Romania customer service is poor and i don't think they have the possibility to do that, and even if the do, it would cost a fortune. BTW....got the car back!!!! paintjob looks killer! i really love it! but as for the smoking issue....the intercooler has arrived but it's not the RRS one....so sent it back and expecting the good one next week. in the mean while....lots of work overdue...very little time...almost wish i didn't go on holiday! Smile) cheers!
