JF, from personal experience I can recommend Michelin Diamaras.

The wear is so far superior to Contis it's ridiculous Thumbs Up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Have you considered getting Pirelli Scorpion Zero again?

if you've got 30,000 miles out of them they must be fairly decent! Gone: RRS : HSE : TDv6 : 57 : Java Black : Ebony : 20"

Mine are nearly shot after 8kmiles. Twisted Evil

Suffer badly from premature outer shoulder wear.

And not the quietest per road noise.

And finally all of the above for the pleasure of £220 + vat per corner.

Well just my opinion but mine were shot in about 4000 miles all the edges had gone, I just think they are a very soft compound and not for a big heavy RRS. Very Happy

But my Michellins are waering well and all over equal with 30k on them. Thumbs Up

JF, the Contis are the heavy load versions designed for big, heavy 4x4's.

As such, Continental themselves admit that new tyres come with the shoulders slightly worn down compared to the centre.

Continental claim that this is a design feature which gives greater stability to tread blocks under pressure from 2.5ton + 4x4's.

Hence, the shoulders wear quickly Thumbs Up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

JF - Recently had 2 new General Grabber UHP tyres put onto the front of my RRS. These tyres cost less than £150.00 inc VAT each and in my limited knowledge seem to be better than the much debated Conti's. FYI they are directional tyres and one thing they have over the Conti's is a deeper tread on the outside of the tyre - the area where most wear seems to occur on the Contis, so these tyres should last longer. So far I'm very happy with them and they seem quieter than contis. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

Michelin Diamaris feedback please ST and others

Have ordered a set of Michelin Diamaris for my 07 TDV8 on 20" Supercharger wheels - ST and others, how do these compare with the contis on road noise and in general?

Big spend on tyres so want to get it right!
Thanks
Les

+1 for the Hankook Ventus.

£135 a corner, quiet and decent tread blocks over the full width of the tyre, unlike the Conti sh*te that i replaced. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy
