Just hitting 30,000 miles and need new front tyres............any recommendations? Stick with the same so all 4 match or is it not a big deal? How soon after do back tyres normally go? The four tyres are all from new....

Well just my opinion but mine were shot in about 4000 miles all the edges had gone, I just think they are a very soft compound and not for a big heavy RRS. |

JF, the Contis are the heavy load versions designed for big, heavy 4x4's. As such, Continental themselves admit that new tyres come with the shoulders slightly worn down compared to the centre. Continental claim that this is a design feature which gives greater stability to tread blocks under pressure from 2.5ton + 4x4's. Hence, the shoulders wear quickly ![]() ![]() Joint runner up - 2009 Outstanding Contribution Award ![]() WINNER - 2008 ‘Best Thread’ Award – Beautiful Women Of The World ![]() Runner Up - 2008 Comedian Of The Year Award ![]() Runner Up - 2008’s Funniest Incident ![]() 06 RRS TDV6 HSE, Java/Ebony, PTI, Running Boards, Privacy, S/C Grille/Vents, Stormers, Tasmods - GONE - ![]() |

JF - Recently had 2 new General Grabber UHP tyres put onto the front of my RRS. These tyres cost less than £150.00 inc VAT each and in my limited knowledge seem to be better than the much debated Conti's. FYI they are directional tyres and one thing they have over the Conti's is a deeper tread on the outside of the tyre - the area where most wear seems to occur on the Contis, so these tyres should last longer. So far I'm very happy with them and they seem quieter than contis. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Have ordered a set of Michelin Diamaris for my 07 TDV8 on 20" Supercharger wheels - ST and others, how do these compare with the contis on road noise and in general?
