Hello all. As with probably most people on this forum, i didn't know about it until my 2008 RRS started to go wrong. Congrats to the site owners for providing a meeting place for enthusiasts and disgruntled owners (got to be loads) Watch out LR... I'm coming to get you and i'm armed with knowledge |

Hey everybody, I have just bought a new rangerover sport and must say i cant believe that i have never tried one before, A friend of mine loves them and has always been hassling me to purchase one, Anyway luckily another friends wife was in hospital having a baby and the friend asked me to drive his rover home from work ! i must say i was amazed, i fell in love and the next days where spent me looking for a sport, Anyway i decided to buy new, Although i do feel a little geeky being on a rover forum ! Yes I know all the stories, but only one none Service bill in 4yrs with it, and it is a 4.6V8, although that was the notorious heater matrix "O" Rings. (dash out for a couple of O rings) I guess you are talking from your own experience, but also if you take everything you read on these forums as a whole, every vehicle is full of problems. I guess always easy for us to write on the problems than praise. I'm hoping I have the same good experience with a RRS !!! Not fully up on this "quote" set up yet, apologise for that |

The RRS is fine, myself and my mucker had 4 engines between us on the P38's we owned, "failure by design". Did at least give me a chance to change the 4ltre up to a 4.6 without changing the car Good luck with everything purple people eater

They both failed exactly to plan and you have named most the symtoms, dont forget heater matrix and 'O' rings, it always goes the one way. The temperature guage has a way of sneaking up on you without warning, keep your eye on it and a couple of lites of water at hand. What I could never understand is that I got an audible warning and dash message when windscreen washer bottle empty, but nothing to tell you the coolant system was in trouble! purple people eater
