Yes it would reduce weight - it will also reduce performance if you get a puncture....

Just put the back seats down, lowers the centre of gravity |

Nowt wrong with taking rear seats out, row 2 & 3 in my case, but don't think I've saved much weight!!
But the stuff was useful for trips to here:
