I know that in some cars the spare wheel actually plays a role in the colision characteristics of the vehicle helping to absorb some of an impact or influencing how the car deforms. Not sure if this is the case with an RRS though. Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8::MG Montego Turbo::MGB GT::Rover Sterling::MGF::MG ZT 190+

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

A good point NF, There was a discussion on the D3 forum a while back on the crash scenario - I think LR comment was that the spare was not an integral part of the protection system. Mind you, bound to help a bit you'd think, a big chunky thing like that. Thumbs Up D2 - D3- RRS onwards & upwards !

I was always led to believe the spare wheel was important in the crash scenario. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
