You can always do a spot of 'window shopping' in good old Amsterdam to keep you entertained! If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....

Just thinking... 70 years ago hundreds of British civilians sailed across the channel to rescue the military from Europe at Dunkirk. Now the roles are reversed, why aren't the Navy mobilising to rescue us? I'm sure that there weren't many discussions about H&S and corporate liability in the 1940s.

My inlaws are stuck out in the middle east.. being told to try and get their connecting flight to istanbul and they will be looked after there. Not sure what is happening but from the sounds of it, the volcano erruption hasn't even stopped yet, looking like tues/weds for it to climax apparently, so think this is going to stay like this for a while. |

Have to admit that its amazingly peaceful up here just now without all the choppers flying overhead out to the rigs and back all day!! There were 2 yesterday and for the first time in ages it was a case of "Oh look!! Helicopters flying" Dont know if they were ones that had been stranded on the rigs waiting as I never heard anything going out prior but it could have been before I woke in the morning as the first flights are normally 7am.

My step son was in South Africa, he caught a flight to Cairo, then to Rome where he txt me "Can you come and pick me up from Rome?" cheeky lad that he is! after a bit of negotiation I'm off down to pick him up from Milan in the morning. Pity the high passes in the Alps are still closed it could have been an interesting run Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Last time this volcano erupted, on any significant scale 200 years ago, it erupted for 12 months. --------------------------------------------------------
