Going on a rugby tour next weekend to Brussels. The tour organiser has managed to book a hotel without a bar! Can anyone recommend some bars and restaurants in the centre of town. We are staying at this hotel - Hotel Astrid, Place du Samedi 11 Zaterdagplein so anything nearby would be good. Normal rules apply to the bar - must be able to handle 50 bodies. Late night opening a must! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

if you like steak, go to "pave eu bruxelles", family run steakhouse just off the grand place, ive been every year for about the last fifteen, and you dont come out hungry!! usually have a round of snails then a massive sirloin! avoid rue des bouchers, the street with all the seafood bars, they are a fortune and pretty rubbish!

I wouldn't eat steak in Belgium, not been able to find a decent one, you get far better ones in the UK.

Well I'm sure you will be fine afte he has had a few Kids are ok in cafes, bars have a slightly diffrent meaning here, where you usually have to pay the "entertainment" by the hour I've seen kids from about 10 upwards in cafes until the small hours of the morning but usually only when there is something on. While they can drink it is frowned on when they are under 15, You can smoke in bars as long as they don't serve food and all other establishements are non smoking indoors. Oh and Friet (chips) are Belgian not french and they are eaten with mayonaise a good beer to try is Rochfort 10 with the blue cap or the 6 with the red cap Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh Clan Cameron |
