United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Alaska White
7 year warranty

Now KIA are offering 7 year warranties on new vehicle will other manufacturers follow ?

Forget who first started offering 3 year warranties but others soon followed and was not long before unlimited miles during the warranty period was also offered.

So which manufacturers are brave enough to follow KIA's example MY10 TDV6 HSE, Alaska White, Ebony with Contrast, Park Heat, Paddle Shift, Privacy, Heated Steering Wheel, Extended & Premium Leather,

MY07 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, Gone

It doesn't make sense for them to do this, if people happily Confused accept 3 years why would they change?

Kia have done this to raise their profile, none of the listed manufaturers need to do this MY10 3.0 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, 20" Diamond Turned Alloys, Factory Privacy Glass, Premium Leather, Contrast Stiching, Side Steps, Etc

Gone 2006 '56' 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, 20", Side Steps, Brembos, Dynamic Pack, Etc

VW Transporter, 19" Rims, T32 170 BHP, Lowered

More likely it would be Hyundai or Proton than any others - for the reason above, it raises their profile for cars that are otherwise somewhat lackluster. Cannot see Land Rover doing, it would bankrupt them! They got their fingers extremely badly burned when they offered 5 years VIP agreements on the FFRR when it first came out 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

One things for sure it wont be Volvo. The amount of warranty work that got done on my xc90 if they had a 7 year on it theyd be bankrupt on that one car!!! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Current, M135i in Estoril Blue with more extras than the cast of Ben Hur.

I do not beleive any will follow.

Hyundi have had a 5 year warranty for some time now and nobdy followed that, Kia then went 2 better.

Honda and Toyota both have their own problems at present, Landrover and Volvo could not afford it, Lexus and Merc do not really need to as they have a reputation for quality and do not need this marketing tactic to bring in reluctant customers.

My only thought is some might offer a longer period on electric cars

No point in offering a 7 year warranty if they cant get parts

KIA had my car for nearly 5 months off road waiting for a dashboard for it, as my original one had motorbike tread marks on it, not a warranty claim but it took 7 months for the a post trim covers too

so if it take this amount of time for parts your 7 years will be spent waiting for it to be fixed

I think many manufacturers won't want to move away from 3 year warranties due to the amount of customers who like the peace of mind that the original manufacturer's warranty brings, and who currently change their vehicles every 3 years because that's when the warranty currently expires - those customers are probably going to hang on to their cars a few years longer if the warranty was to be extended, especially in the current financial climate. Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.8::MG Montego Turbo::MGB GT::Rover Sterling::MGF::MG ZT 190+
