Sunroof on RRS

I have never had one on an RRS or FFRR, just wondered if people with them fitted think it is a worthwhile option?
Over the years I have had many cars with a factory fitted sunroof and while it makes the interior lighter I didn't get anything back in the part exchange value. I have one on my 90 and wouldn't spec it ever again as at this time of year I get free cold showers on every bump and corner as icy cold condensation drips off the glass panel................................. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Mine has one. It makes the interior feel brighter. I have only opened it a few times in the summer. It has 2 opening positions - half or fully retracted. I reckon it is a worthwhile extra. If you see a bandwagon - it's too late.....

I use mine tho in the summer it is firmly shut and the aircon is ON!
It does bring a lot of light into the car and makes the interior feel more spacious. I do open it a lot and if the car has been parked in the sun it does help ventilate to get the hot air out. Sons of dogs come hither and get flesh

Worthwhile indeed. When open gives the car a whole different feel.

Would never buy one without Exclamation

I like them on the RRS but it eats into the headroom of the car if you are very tall.

I'm 6'2 and my head is quite close to the head lining even with the seat very very low.

3 open positions actually. Half open, fully open and tilted up at the back.

I reckon it's worth it...makes the interior brighter. If particulary hot or cold I shut the blind over to provide insulation from the two variables when parking up for long periods. TDV6 - gone

We have it on the misses Freelander and I have to agree that it does really make the car feel brighter and more
airy inside. Have to say though, It's a bit of a swizz on LR's part that if you buy a £32k Freelander 2 HSE the twin
sunroof is standard but spend £54k on an RRS HSE and you have to pay nearly another grand to spec it as an option - pretty bloody cheeky in my humble opnion!! Rolling Eyes 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

I like having a sunroof, just for the light it allows in,

I very rarely open it though, to be honest i think the FL2 sunroof is ugly when open, with the fly catcher that pops up and it only looks half open when it is Confused

Occasionally use the tilt it up function, but then that rules the air con out of cooling the cabin, so that gets closed 10 mins later Laughing Laughing

Had a sun roof on all my LR's, except this new RRS. Would I like one? Yes. Are they any use? Definately, No. The wind noise is awful above 25mph in general. They do let in light, but in the RRS it doesn't need it like the high roof lines ofctge FFRR or D3.

If it's free, I'd have it. If it was a choice over some other option I'd probably use more I wouldn't have it.

PS Haven't missed a s/r since owning this new Sport, mind you it is winter! 2010MY Land Rover Freelander 2 HSE

I'm pro a Sun Roof for two main reasons, one is the increased light / space feeling & the other is heat dissapation on hot summer day's - when we get some ! LoL
I searched high & low to find a used RRS TDV8 with a S/R & they are not easy to find so should be worth a premium ?
On a sad note, my leaked when I washed the car first time, returned to my dealer under warranty & the frame is twisted !! Whole thing has now got to be replaced as soon as landrover can supply the parts - 2 week wait !! Sad I am their leader................ which way did they go ?

Pro sunroof here, Tim.

For a car of that price it's a necessity, and not just for a better resale value. I have mine tilted most of the time and it really does make a difference, and in spring and autumn an on most days in summer there's no need to run the aircon. SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE BUG AND SOMETIMES YOU'RE THE WINDSHIELD

I'd like a sunroof, as all my mates think i'm a gangster driving a black RRS.
It'd make the drive-by's easier if I could stand up through the sunroof to point the Uzi

Thumbs Up I keep telling myself 'It's a toy'
But I've broken quite a lot of toys in my time.....
