posessed automatic rear window. mind of its own

came back to my car today after work and found one of the rear windows open. If I try and close it it just reaches the top and goes straight back down again. I appreciate this is some sort of kiddie safety feature but surely the bloody window should close if theres no head in the way !!!

I knew I'd never see the first 1,000 miles trouble free. Censored new cars shouldn't have these problems if QA is any good.

I can't be arsed driving the 70 mile round trip to my dealer. is this a land rover assist job or will they tell me to get stuffed??

Brand new MY2010 RRS.

not chuffed.

Try and check to make sure that the trim is not blocking the window travel route. Or a foreign object has not lodged itself. Otherwise i think it may be a Land rover assist Job! Thumbs Up

There is a similar window reset for the RRS too - although I don't remember if the steps are exactly the same Confused

United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Just had to carry out this procedure on a MY10 FFRR Vogue and would you believe it, works on that as well Smile

Repeated here for good info:

Window reset.

The windows will need to be reset if the battery is disconnected, becomes discharged, or power supply is interrupted.

Reset as follows :-

1. Close the window fully.
2. Release the switch, then lift it to the close position and hold for two seconds.
3. Open the window fully.
4. Release the switch, then push it to the open position and hold for two seconds.
5. Lift and release the switch to operate the one touch function.
6. Repeat the procedure on each window.

Thanks very much. Smoke me a kipper: I'll be back for breakfast.

RRS HSE TDV6 gone after 15 months since new - will not be missed I'm afraid - bit of a gremlin in there somewhere - too many issues. Replaced with FFRR Vogue TDV8 - very nice - not as sporty (of course) but absolute luxury.
