Just thought I'd say hi before I go and smash my head against a wall, just took delivery of a nice RRS S/C and decided to sort out the insurance tonight

Cheapest quote Insure your motor £10,044 TPFT
Worst quote Asda £100,039 TPFT

Now I know they're quality cars and I dont live in the safest of areas, but WTF!!!!! I've got an '04' M5 parked on the drive that only costs me £1100 fully comp.

I should have really looked into this first.

Right, where's the yellow pages? here it is,...... Mortgage Brokers[/img]

Right, done a few more online quotes and the cheepest so far is Kwik Fit! Fully comp £5450. Its still a bit steep so going to phone around today.
If anyone can tell me whats bumping my premium up it would be appreciated.

Jesus christ!! Shocked I was thinking for a minute you must be 17, but seeing your last post you're obviously not. Cost me about £500 when I had mine... fully comp with LV.

Have you got 4 years no-claims on all your vehicles? Or is this a new policy starting from scratch? Not all insurers will carry across N/C discount if you are still insuring the other car as well.

Have you tried Admiral's multi-car policy? Might make a difference.

I don't believe postcodes make that much difference.

Probably not 5k's difference, but I remember when I moved out of London I phoned up to change my address and they offered me a rebate as the insurance was now cheaper that I'd moved into the country. That was worth a couple of hundred quid iirc.

Jeez... thats staggering. Used to drive porsches and they never charged me anywhere near that - even when I lived in central london. I'm 40 have RRS TDV8 and costs me around 600 to insure fully comp.
The two biggest drops in car insurance I've ever had were passing 35 years old (honest!), and the even bigger drop (about 40% down) by moving out of central london.
Must be where you live - those prices are jaw-dropping - might be cheaper moving than paying that insurance - and probably better value Wink Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE, Buckingham Blue with Ebony Black
