Front brake pads/discs

Hi guy's
just fitted new front discs and pads to my 06 r/r sport, the old discs were goosed so much so that the outer edge of the disc cut into the wear sensor but not just enough to cut the wires. ( I have only had the car a week and not had time to look over her yet) does the new sensor come with a new cable and does anyone know where it connects ??
also the warning light is still on with a message showing on the computer to fit new brake pads, do I have to put the car into Landrover to to get the warning light and message removed???

Wullie

If the brake wear sensor wire is damaged it obviously needs to be replaced. This is a fairly straight forward DIY fix, as it is simply a case of unplugging one sensor wire and plugging in the replacement. The warning light will disappear once the sensor is replaced. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Talking of Brakes.... my light came on yesterday requesting new pads.... took it to the dealer who wanted me to part with $700 for rear pads, skimming the rotors (Discs) and sensor.... Rolling with laughter

Took it over to Midas (a national chain here in the US) who will do it all for $315, maybe not OEM pads but at least i dont feel ripped off Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up and they will provide a free service to take me to the office Brit across the Pond Wink

I would get LR parts fitted. Supply your own pads and ask for a parts discount. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

But LR use ferodo or similar anyway - so OEM is 3rd party anyway Confused I am tired of posting on brake pad posts - plenty on the search function

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Fuji White

Changed approximately 4 months ago, skimming the rear rotors was a false economy, as the difference in skimming vs wholesale replacement ended up at less than 80 dollars (so had the lot replaced), so no doubt saved me a further 500-600 dollars within 6 months. In Australia the cost at the dealership was $1440 Oz (about 1K US or 700 pounds in real money) all round, friend is getting his D3 done for 1200 at a LR independent specialist.. Another Pommie Bar Steward down under
